Danniella Westbrook was hit by reports yesterday claiming she had been axed from EastEnders after only two weeks of filming.
However, after taking to Twitter and Instagram yesterday to rubbish the claims, the actress also appeared on Good Morning Britain to discuss the matter.
Presenting the show alongside Susanna Reid, Piers Morgan quizzed Danniella on whether she had been a “naughty girl”.
Danniella replied: “No I just left work on Saturday. I was only contracted to do two weeks and that was that. My boyfriend drove me into work to save me driving every day.”
And responding to the reports about her turning up late to work repeatedly, she said: “Repeatedly? No I wasn’t repeatedly. I was one day, I broke down on the M25.”
After explaining that she was only contracted for two weeks work on the BBC One soap, Danniella revealed that she would have liked to have stayed longer.
Speaking to Piers and Susanna, she confessed: “I was quite upset really. I think at the time, because I think I, along with the general public, expected to work alongside Barbara [Windsor] and Ross [Kemp] and we don’t actually all do anything
together at any one time.”
However, the 42 year old revealed on the ITV show that she would like to work for another soap – which we correctly guessed from her social media messages yesterday.
Although she admitted she would like to return to EastEnders, Danniella said her dream is to be in Emmerdale: “I’d love to be in Emmerdale, I’m a country girl.
“I would quite like to go and do something new and to be a different character, in a different soap. I’d love a bit of Dingle in my life.”
Danniella will be in four episodes of EastEnders in the next few weeks.
