Danniella Westbrook recently retuned to the set of EastEnders to film scenes for on-screen mum Peggy Mitchell’s funeral.
The 42 year old returned to Walford for four episodes, which are yet to be aired, but Danniella has been hitting headlines ever since her return.
Reports claimed that she had been axed from the soap after her two weeks filming, however the actress put rumours to rest when she rubbished the claims on Good Morning Britain.
She told Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan at the time: “I was only contracted to do two weeks and that was that.”
During the interview, Danniella was asked if she would have wanted to stay longer, and confessed that she was disappointed that the Mitchell family didn’t get to do a scene together.
And taking to Instagram recently, the Celebrity Big Brother star posted a snap of herself and on-screen son Ricky, explaining why she wants Sam Mitchell to return to Albert Square.
She captioned the post: “My on screen son Ricky what a great child to work with a real little pro and wonderful actor.
“It's such a shame I won't be going back to the show as I think people would of loved to see Sam as a mum and with a different take on the character...”
She continued: “But I don't write the show I just do what they tell me.. And they've done what they always do use Sam when she's needed & then send her off in a black cab.
“I wish @bbceastenders would listen to the public more .. But either way I'm grateful of the 4 episodes o got to film [sic].”
Fans were quick to comment on the post saying they would love to see her return full time.
One wrote: “We all wish you were back permanently, they gave us false hope. Maybe they'll have a rethink for the future.”
Another added: “Bring back Sam on a permanent basis @bbceastenders we need some more real raw talent this is what eastenders is all about don't forget, the public know best especially old timers like me I've been watching it since I was a teenager.”
One sadly put: “Aw no I didn't realize you weren't staying on the show, you are totally right @danniellawestbrook let's hope @bbceastenders change their mind and listen to us fans who watch the show! Looking forward to watching you Hun x”
Sam returns to EastEnders on Thursday 30 June at 7:30pm on BBC One.
