**Following her successful run on Celebrity Big Brother, Danniella Westbrook has admitted she’s set for a return to acting – and has her eye on Albert Square. **
Danniella, 42, is best known for her role as Sam Mitchell in BBC One soap EastEnders, and it’s going to be a big year for the fictional family.
It was recently revealed Sam’s mum Peggy has terminal cancer, while her brother Phil is battling his own health problems.
Now mum-of-two Danni has insisted her focus is once again on acting, and hinted she could be back in Soapland by the summer.
Speaking to The Sun, she said: “I am an actress first and foremost so that’s exactly what I want to do – go back to acting and soaps, whatever it may be.
“I’ve got a few things sorted. I’ve got a lot of things that people want me to do at the moment so I’ve got to look at it all on Monday but yeah I should imagine I’ll be in some form of soap before the summer.”
As well as her on/off role in EastEnders, Danniella appeared briefly in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks as jailbird Trudy Ryan – a role she was set to reprise last year.
However it was later confirmed Danniella’s appearance had been cancelled, with the soap citing ‘breach of contract’ as the reason.
And during her time in the CBB house it was reported Danniella could be set to join the cast of Emmerdale, but she’s giving nothing away.
She teased: “It might not be the [soap] you think it’s going to be.”
