The former EastEnders star relapsed into her cocaine addiction after her relationship with the cage fighter turned sour.

And, while 41-year-old Danniella has since turned a corner with a return to Channel 4’s Hollyoaks, she has now shockingly revealed that she tried to kill herself after her engagement to Tom Richards ended.

She told Sunday People newspaper: "I couldn't get Tom out of my life and thought the easiest way out was killing myself.

“I wasn’t strong enough to hang myself or cut myself, but I just wanted to kill myself.”

Danniella continued: “That's why I used cocaine. I was medicating myself. It has always been my drug of choice.

“I was using two to three grams a day, which was too much…”

The soapstar added: “It wasn't as much as I was using when I was younger. But it was enough to make my body shut down.

“That's what I wanted to happen. It nearly worked.

“I wanted to die."

Danniella has claimed that she is now clean from cocaine; the actress takes a drugs test every two weeks because of the counselling she is having.

She is also said to be on anxiety drugs and anti-depressants.

The actress has, since her split from Tom Richards, claimed that he abused her during their relationship together.

He has refused to comment on these allegations.

His agent Dave O’Donnell said: “None of these allegations are true. I have known Tom for a few years and he is 100 per cent right in the head.”
