Danielle Lloyd has bravely opened up about the romantic day out with her fiancée Michael O’Neil that turned into one of the scariest situations of her entire life.

Speaking candidly on Loose Women, Danielle went into detail about how Michael saved her life after a friend's dog broke free from its lead and ran to attack them.

And although Danielle managed to escape unharmed, Michael wasn’t so lucky as the dog attacked him instead – leaving him with painful injuries on his back and bum.

Miraculously, Michael managed to wrestle the dog from him as Danielle watched on helplessly. The dog, who Danielle said looked like a ‘pitbull cross’ has now been put to sleep and Michael will have to have physiotherapy on his injuries.

Danielle said that it was one of the most frightening things she's ever witnessed:"It had blood coming out of its mouth, its eyes were bulging out of its head.

"I could imagine this dog somehow getting out. It's not us, it's other people round, we need to get this dog put down or get it somewhere safe."

She also added that her first thought was of her children Archie, George and Harry, who wouldn’t have survived the attack if Michael wasn’t there.

“All I could think was, I'm so glad that the kids weren't there. There's no way they would have survived.”

Danielle received positive comments from viewers who praised her for coming forward to share her terrifying experience. However, she had to defend herself from some viewers who felt that Danielle shouldn’t have said the breed if she wasn’t 100% sure and insist that dogs are the product of their environment.

The model also revealed she is "more in love than ever" with her fiancé after he rescued her and vows to "live life to the full as it could end at any second".
