They they were pictured putting on a united front with their three sons at the Aston Villa football training ground in Birmingham earlier this month.

But it appears their reconciliation was short-lived as reports emerged last week that Danielle’s fiancé, Michael O’Neill, 29, assaulted footballer Jamie, also 29, in a furious row reportedly over car seats, which escalated when Michael confronted the former England player over claims of a threesome during his two-year marriage to Danielle.

The brawl – which took place in Danielle’ Staffordshire home the day after the exes has reunited to watch their sons play football – led to electrician Michael being kept in police custody for 24 hours before being bailed, while Jamie reportedly suffered cuts to the head.

Pals say Danielle, who fled to Las Vegas with Michael shortly after the altercation, has been left devastated by the incident and is thinking of enlisting a third party to mediate and help her and Jamie salvage their goodwill for the sake of their sons, Archie, five, Harry, four and George, two.

A source says: “Danielle says she can’t cope with any more drama. It’s causing her a huge amount of turmoil and anxiety and she is worried about it affecting her relationship with Michael, as well as having a knock-on effect on the kids.

“Danielle is devastated about what has happened. She says mediation is her only hope of having a positive relationship with Jamie and plan to start as soon as possible.”
