Dancing On Ice's Jake Quickenden has shown his commitment to the show today after sustaining an injury in the snow on the way to rehearsals

The Beast from the East is wreaking havoc up and down the country - and it doesn't look set to stop anytime soon.

And while we don't mind a bit of snowman-building and the odd snowball fight, where we DO take exception is when it starts to mess with our TV plans.

For example, poor old Jake Quickenden AKA Dancing On Ice extraordinaire was nearly seriously injured today because of the snow.

Early on in the 2019 competition, James was criticized for having an unfair advantage over the other contestants because of his extensive dancing experience.

Joe Swash, 2020

Joe Swash and Alex Murphy took home the 2020 trophy, despite Diversity's Peri Kiely being the bookies favourite since the beginning of the competition. However, it wasn't all plain sailing for Joe throughout the competition. Not only did he find himself at the bottom of the leaderboard in week three and have an ear infection, he also had to swap professional dance partners after Alexandra Schauman fell and injured herself during rehearsals, forcing her to drop out of the show.

Jake, who is partnered with Vanessa Bauer on the show, kept his social media fans updated on his chaotic morning which saw him suffer from whiplash after crashing his car in the snow.

Taking to Twitter, he warned his fans to stay safe, revealing that he'd been involved in a car accident due to the snow his co-star and best pal on the show, Kem Cetinay.

He wrote: "Be careful if you're out in the snow, had a nightmare morning, skidded going life 5mph and bumped another car that was broken down, everyone ok, but the roads are tragic so please be careful!!"

He then live-streamed his morning on Instagram stories, revealing he now had whiplash after the bump and had even had to hitchhike to even make it to the studio.

He told the camera: "We've had a nightmare, there are cars spinning out left, right and centre. I hate driving in the snow!"

In the next clip, he was wrapped up in some sort of shawl with snow steadily falling on him as he said: "So this is what it's turned into, I've got socks on my hands and I'm walking to training because there are pile-ups everywhere," before Kem hilariously slipped on the ice.

Finally, he made it to rehearsals and told his fans: "I've just done an hour and a half training and now I'm going to try and get back to the hotel. My car is parked in some cottage because I obviously had a car accident this morning and now I've got a bit of whiplash."

EEK. We hope you feel better soon Jake!
