Dancing on Ice 2014: Ray Quinn crowned winner of final ever series

Last night saw the final ever series of Dancing on Ice come to an end, and Ray Quinn announced as the winner.

Ray, 25, and partner Maria Filippov battled against Coronation Street actress Hayley Tamaddon, 37, and Dan Whiston to win the ice-skating competition.

Viewers saw Beth Tweddle and skating partner Lukasz Rozycki finish third in the competition, which had featured the best celebrity contestants from the previous series’ of the show.

Throughout the evening’s show, Ray topped the leaderboard of scores from the judges, achieving the maximum of 80 points.

Following his win, Ray said: “Thank you so much for everything. This moment is for Maria. I’m proper buzzing. I’m over the moon, I really am. Drinks are on me!”

Runner-up Hayley said of Ray’s win: “He’s an absolute star. He is amazing at everything. He deserves it, he really does.”

THE BEST EVER DANCING ON ICE SLIP-UPS

At the beginning of the show, the judges – Ashley Roberts, Jason Gardiner, Karen Barber and Robin Cousins – took to the ice for a one off performance, and even hosts Christine Bleakley and Phillip Schofield had a go.

Also during the final, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean performed their famous Bolero routine, which was to be their last televised performance.
