Former The Only Way Is Essex star Dan Osborne’s father was banned from his son’s wedding to Jacqueline Jossa due to a huge family rift, it has emerged.
Jim Osborne was not able to see his son say “I do” to Jacqueline in front of their loved ones on their special day because of a secret aggressive family rift.
Dan and his EastEnders actress wife got married in June this year but not all his family were there.
Dad Jim, who split from Dan's mother Toni in 2001, was supposed to be his son’s best man but also did not attend his offspring’s stag do because of the rift.
Dan reportedly found himself in hot water after sending confrontational text messages to his father’s new wife Becky, which were claimed to have threatened physical violence.
Jim claims Dan’s rise to fame on ITVBe show TOWIE changed his son, especially after he fell for actress Jacqueline.
He told The Sun: “I don’t want to blame her but he has become more distant with people who love him. It is very upsetting, especially as I have always been there for him. And I am not sure if he will ever get better.”
Dan and Jacqueline’s wedding was no small affair as they got married in front of 170 guests, including their children Ella and Teddy.
Jim was given the boot from the bridal party after the family fight blew up and Jim did not attend Dan’s stag do in Las Vegas because he stayed home to look after Dan’s three-year-old son Teddy.
The parent said at the time: “I thought Dan would understand, being a dad himself. I said, ‘My son needs me - he’s a little boy and is not going to understand.'”
But Dan allegedly made things worse by sending his father and his new wife hurtful messages.
Referring to his father, one is said to have read: “When is he off work next? Want to see what he has to say to my face. I’ll drive over. Friday morning?
“The only time I’d hear any truth from him is talking face-to-face ‘cause he thinks he’s hard through text and it’s laughable. I’ll leave him alone to have his new little life just the three of you if you want.”
When Jim told his son he was unable to come to his stag in Vegas, Dan apparently replied: “Are you going to bother coming to the wedding?”
Jim previously said he was heartbroken over his arguments with Dan.
