Cristiano Ronaldo's young son Cristiano Jnr, dubbed Cristianinho, has no idea who his mother is, family members have admitted.

The Real Madrid and Portugal star’s sister Elma has revealed to The Mirror that the four-year-old boy has now stopped asking about the woman, believed to be a surrogate mother.

And she added that the family had even once told the youngster that his mother was dead.

She said: “Once we told him she was in Heaven, but my brother and mum asked us not to repeat it.

"We say now his mum went travelling . He doesn’t ask anymore.”

Questions about the identity of Cristiano Jnr's mother surfaced last week, when the pro footballer's mum Dolores Aveiro released an official biography.

In the book, she revealed that she went to the US to pick up Cristianinho after his 2010 birth.

She said Ronaldo, 29, told her: “The mum will never be known.”
