The Hollywood couple announced the split in October 2010, before David filed for divorce last June.

Despite the break-up, the actors – who have an eight-year-old daughter Coco - are said to have remained close.

During a January interview on The Ellen Degeneres Show, former Friends star Courtney said of David: ‘He's my best friend in the world. I love him.

‘I appreciate David more now than I ever did.

‘I don't recommend divorce in general, but he is my best friend and we've both grown and changed, and I think we both appreciate each other more. I hope he does. I do.’

'I love her too, and she's an amazing person'

David, who is now in a relationship with Entertainment Tonight correspondent Christina McLarty, has been equally as complimentary about his ex.

The star told a US magazine in January: ‘She’s incredible. I love her too, and she's an amazing person, a beautiful person.’

According to reports, both stars had asked for joint custody of daughter Coco.
