Courteney, 50, said that Johnny McDaid was keen to involve her daughter in his plans, but with her set to go away to summer camp, he had to rush things.

‘Johnny first asked Coco. He said, “I’d like to marry your mom,” and gave her a little diamond ring. She said, “Great, I’m going to camp tomorrow. Let’s do it right now.”’

And as the family had pre-existing plans to spend the evening with Coco’s godmother Jennifer Aniston, Johnny proposed at the Friends star’s Bel Air mansion.

According to Courteney, her 38-year-old love then found the ‘perfect’ tree in the grounds of Jennifer’s mansion where he and Coco issued the proposal.

'It was so beautiful,' she added.

Coco is Courteney’s daughter with her ex husband, fellow actor David Arquette, who also got engaged this summer.
