Friends star Courteney Cox has had all her fillers dissolved and is now happier with her natural look
Courteney Cox has revealed that she has had all the fillers in her face dissolved.
After slowly adding to her surgery bit by bit, she had a realisation that she looked completely different, and has decided to revert back to her natural looks.
Courteney, 53, was so desperate to keep looking youthful that she had many different treatments - most notably the fillers in her face.
Speaking to New Beauty, Courteney explained that it is easy to fall into the trap.
She said: "I grew up thinking appearance was the most important thing. That as long as I looked OK, I would be OK, which got me into trouble.
"You go to a doctor who would say, 'You look great, but what would help is a little injection here or filler there.'"
She explained that she would count is as a success if no-one commented on how different she looked.
Courteney added that it became a vicious cycle: "Somebody tells you about another doctor: 'This person's amazing. They do this person who looks so natural.'
"The next thing you know, you're layered and layered and layered. You have no idea because it's gradual until you go, 'Oh sh*t, this doesn't look right.'"
It's easy to see how someone could fall into a trap of having lots of treatments.
But thankfully, Courteney, who is engaged to Snow Patrol guitarist Johnny McDaid, has managed to break free, and revealed to the publication that she's now had all her fillers dissolved.
She said: "I'm as natural as I can be. I feel better because I look like myself. I think that I now look more like the person that I was. I hope I do.
"You need movement in your face, especially if you have thin skin like I do. I've had to learn to embrace movement and realise that fillers are not my friend."
The Hollywood star then went on to say how tricky it can be with a teenage daughter and teaching her to love her appearance.
She said: "Coco loves makeup and she expresses herself through it. Luckily at school she can only wear mascara, but on the weekends you would think she's going out to a rager at 2am — eyeliner, mascara, highlighter on her cheeks."
"I know some people think I should rein her in with the makeup, but it's a form of self-expression. As long as she's not sexualising herself, it's really just what makes her feel good. I want to keep an open relationship with her. I care more about what she's watching than what she's putting on her face."
The mum-of-one even admitted that she would love another baby: "I would love to have a baby now. I know it's crazy, but I would."
We're so glad to see Courteney is embracing her natural self.
