The late actor, who died at the age of 31 from an overdose of alcohol and heroin on Saturday, was cremated in Vancouver on Tuesday following a private viewing ceremony attended by his family including mum Ann McGregor and girlfriend Lea Michele, 26.
Now the Glee star’s father has spoken out about his son’s tragic death and revealed that he was ‘totally devastated’ about not being able to see Cory’s body before the cremation.
‘I always loved both my sons and am going to miss Cory very, very much. I'm saddened at the fact I couldn't have been there to see my son before he was cremated,’ Joe told a US showbiz website.

The actor’s mother reportedly decided to hold a private viewing with girlfriend Lea and brother Shaun after his body was released to her on Tuesday following the autopsy.
Cory and Shaun were bought up by their mother after their parents divorced when Cory was seven years due to his father military service.
The star didn’t see his father for 17 years until they reunited in 2009.
Speaking about his father in an interview with a US magazine two years ago, Cory said: 'We’d spoken maybe three or four times [during that period] and he reached out to me on Facebook. I couldn’t shut the door, so I got on a plane.’
'He greeted me at the airport, and (he and stepmother Yvette) were so happy they were almost crying. It was a good time.'
Cory’s girlfriend of two years and Glee co-star, Lea, who was reported to be 'absolutely hysterical and completely inconsolable' following his death, released a statement through her spokesperson earlier this week.
'We ask that everyone kindly respect Lea's privacy during this devastating time,' the representative said.
Cory was found dead by cleaning staff in his hotel room at the Pacific Rim hotel in Vancouver after returning from an evening out with his friends.
