Coronation Street’s Sarah Platt will be targeted by drug addict Lee Mayhew, who lures her around to his bedsit when he learns she’s desperate to see his brother, Billy.

While Sarah (Tina O’Brien) anxiously awaits the vicar’s arrival, Lee steals her phone from her bag and calls Billy (Daniel Brocklebank).

However the vicar is left horrified when his troubled brother reveals that he has taken Sarah hostage - and that he will only release her in exchange for £1000.

Horrified, Billy rushes to seek help from Todd Grimshaw (Bruno Langley) and David Platt (Jack P Shepherd), who help him investigate several addresses in a bid to track down his troubled sibling.

Sarah, meanwhile, is left fearing for her life when Lee dubiously claims that Callum Logan (Sean Ward) is still alive.

Unaware of just how huge an effect these words will have on Sarah (who has long feared that her ex survived Kylie (Paula Lane)’s attack), Lee is rattled when she tries to escape.

The shocked addict grabs at her and violently wrestles her to the floor, but the experience reminds her of Callum’s attack on her all those months ago - and she breaks down into terrified sobs.

Lee soon realises that Sarah is mentally unstable - but will this encourage him to show pity, or will it simply encourage him to bully her further?

Sarah has been battling postpartum psychosis ever since the body of her youngest child’s father was found buried underneath the concrete of her mother Gail’s extension.

Speaking to The Mirror, Tina O'Brien previously said: "The body being discovered is so huge that she can't process it very well.

“She's trying really hard to keep it together but things get said to her accidentally that make her disillusioned, she's separated from reality really.

“It's like post-traumatic stress, she has these psychotic episodes.”

We hope that Billy, Todd, and David will be able to track Sarah down and rescue her from Lee’s clutches, before it’s too late.

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Sunday, June 19 at 7.30pm on ITV.
