Paula Lane is soon due to give birth to her daughter in July this year, and already mum to 18-month-old Arthur, the busy actress has confessed she wants to do take a different approach with her second baby.

Speaking to OK! Magazine, the 30-year-old Coronation Street star revealed:

“I feel like I’ve got to nurture this new baby. Arthur only had 11 weeks with me before I went back to work. I’ve done six years of solid work so I think I owe it to myself to have a natural break.”

Paula, who married childhood sweetheart Tom Shaw in May 2014, has been a regular on the ITV soap since 2010.

However, she announced in February she would be leaving the soap for good, ahead of the birth of her baby.

She said at the time:

"This has not been an easy decision for me to make. I have enjoyed every moment of my time on Coronation Street and learnt so much in the process.

"I have an amazing on-screen family who have become friends for life so this decision was not taken lightly. But sometimes you just have to follow your heart and I am excited about what the future has to offer both personally and professionally.”

Eager fans of the star don’t despair, as Paula has insisted she’s still committed to an acting career.

She also told OK! That while she’s “put Kylie in a box,” she may find it hard to resist amazing offers:

“If anything amazing comes up I’d have to take another look at my plan!”
