The actress and her fitness trainer boyfriend Thomas Pitfield confirmed the happy news on Twitter today, with Catherine writing, ‘Delighted to tell you all that @TP_PTfitness and I are expecting a bambino! Beyond thrilled :-)’

Posing for the first time in a Hello! Magazine photoshoot, the actress who plays Eva Price in the ITV soap, revealed that she can't quite believe that only nine months after she and Tom started dating they are set to become parents.

‘If you'd told me that before my next birthday I was going to meet someone as amazing as Tom, the person I want to spend the rest of my life with, and that we were going to be planning for our first baby, I would not have believed you in a million years… it's crazy,’ Catherine said.

‘It's like everything has gone fast forward, but it's not remotely scary. It just feels 100 per cent right,’ she added.

The actress is due to give birth in March next year – and we can’t wait to meet their little one!
