Samia, 33, and partner Sylvain Longchambon are expecting their first child together – and there really isn’t very long to go until their little bundle of joy arrives.

So it makes sense that the Coronation Street star has taken the chance to treat herself while she can.

Yup, to celebrate going on maternity leave - and the calm before the storm! - Samia has taken a trip to the hairdressers.

And she’s only gone and dyed her hair brunette!

Speaking about why she decided to join the dark side, Samia wrote in her OK! blog: “Seeing as I have now finished work at Corrie and I'm not stuck in continuity (which is when we are filming lots of different episodes at the same time so have to look the same in each one), I took the chance to have a bit of a change with my hair – I fancied going a bit darker for autumn.

“I think it will be less maintenance for me when baby arrives and as lovely as it is to see Mel my hairdresser, I won't have to worry about getting my roots done every few weeks!”

We think she looks lovely!

Samia, who is already mum to gorgeous little girl Freya, has also been getting stuck into her wedding plans.

Revealing that she and Dancing On Ice’s Sylvain will be tying the knot in France next summer, she said: “We've found a beautiful venue and fingers crossed it's free when we want it, then we can start to make more definite plans after baby has been born.

“My Pinterest board on 'wedding ideas' has been keeping me busy since I've been on maternity leave that's for sure!”

It seems as if there’s a lot of exciting things for this little family to look forward to, doesn’t it?

What do you think of Samia’s new look?
