Tina O’Brien has returned to Coronation Street to reprise her role as Sarah-Louise Platt.

And one of the first people to welcome her back to Weatherfield’s cobbles was 30-year-old Ryan Thomas, who not only plays Sarah’s ex Jason Grimshaw, but is also, in fact, Tina’s actual ex.

Ryan split from the 31-year-old just one year after she gave birth to their daughter Scarlett, leaving Tina devastated.

She told a magazine at the time: “About a week before Scarlett's first birthday, he said he didn't love me any more.

“He said I didn't do it for him any more. Those were his words.

“I was absolutely devastated. He said he didn't want the responsibility of a relationship with me.”

However, despite this, the couple have since moved on, with Tina finding love with personal trainer Adam Crofts - not to mention having another child, a baby boy named Beau.

And, speaking with The Mirror, she has said things couldn’t be less awkward between her and Ryan on the Corrie set.

She said: “Ryan was pleased I was coming back, he has been really supportive. From the very early stages I discussed it with him.

“He was really good about it and he said it would be brilliant for me.

“We are lucky. We are a very modern family. We spent Christmas morning all together this year for the first time. It was lovely.”

Her screen alter-ego will be back on Corrie from Monday, as Sarah-Louise returns from Milan along with her now teenage daughter Bethany.
