Ryan Thomas, 30, will be mixing cocktails at a Yate's bar in Preson, Lancashire this evening.

A flier for his appearance, which will see him greeting fans as well as serving drinks, reads: “Ryan Thomas – a.k.a. Jason from Coronation Street.

"Live behind the bar shaking some cocktails!”

However a source has told The Sun that the soapstar will be paid £2,000 for the personal appearance.

And that he will be using the money to settle his £40,000 bill with Inland Revenue.

They said: “Ryan is desperate to pay off his debt and is working hard away from Corrie to get the cash.

"He is getting there and confident he will pay off the taxman in the next few months."

They added: "He was declared bankrupt after investments let him down.”

Ryan was declared bankrupt last year after a petition by HM Revenue and Customs over an unpaid tax bill, according to the Daily Mirror newspaper.
