Coronation Street’s Kym Marsh pays tribute to her ‘beautiful friend’ killed by lorry

Coronation Street star Kym Marsh has paid tribute to her friend, after he was killed by a truck during rush hour.

Jack Taran Essex was critically injured when he was hit by the vehicle at around 8.40 on Wednesday morning.

Despite emergency team’s best efforts, the 18-year-old could not be saved after suffering severe head injuries in the collision.

Jack passed away on Thursday

Pedestrians at the scene held umbrellas over him as he was treated by medical professionals, and he was then rushed to Salford Royal Hospital, near Manchester.

Jack passed away on Thursday evening.

Corrie star Kym paid tribute to the youngster on her social media pages.

‘Absolutely devastated. What a beautiful guy he was inside and out. We will miss him terribly. Love you sweetheart xxx.’

‘My beautiful friend Jack passed away this evening. He will be missed beyond words.’

Kym added that her son David had taken the news especially badly. ‘He can’t get his head round the fact they only spoke on Facebook the other day x.’

Jack apparently passed away with his partner, Tony Cooper, and his family at his side.
