Actress Paula Lane is excited about her departure from Coronation Street.
But, while the star, who plays killer Kylie Platt, is pleased with how she’s been written out of the soap, she’s not revealing how she’ll go.
Paula, who has been nominated for Best Actress at this year’s British Soap Awards, told the Daily Star Sunday: “I’m very happy with my exit. I can’t reveal how or why or even if the door is being left open for Kylie.
“It’s a very fitting end for the character. And of course everyone is counting down to the big reveal where Callum’s body will finally be found.
“When I first found out that Kylie was going to be a killer I was in quite a bit of shock. I kept thinking ‘how can she come back from it?’”
Paula first appeared on the ITV soap in 2010 as Becky McDonald’s tearaway sister.
Her character later married Gail Platt’s troublesome son David.
The actress, who is expecting her second child, is due to film her final scenes in June and hopes to appear in some television dramas after taking some time off like former Corrie stars Katherine Kelly, Sarah Lancashire and Suranne Jones.
Of the actresses, Paula said: “They’re all rocking it and they’re doing it really, really well. It’s a real testament to Corrie.
“I’m kind of mindful of the fact that I want to do something very different from Kylie.”
