BREAKING NEWS!
After weeks of speculation over who will host the Channel 5 reboot of Blind Date, there's a new contender entering the ring.
Coronation Street's Catherine Tyldesley has apparently had "secret talks" with the producers of the show, according to the Daily Star.
The 33-year-old actress, who has played Eva Price in the soap since 2011, apparently put herself forward for the role - even though her co-star Helen Flanagan, who plays Rosie Webster, is also potentially in the running.
A source at the studios spoke to the newspaper: "Cath is very keen to be the host of Blind Date. Everyone knows she would be the perfect package."
Other names being thrown about for the position were Olly Murs, Vicky Pattison, Georgia May Foote - and even Kylie Minogue.
Blind Date, as we're sure you know, ran every Saturday night from 1985 until 2003 when Cilla Black stepped down from the role.
The new revival is thought to follow the same pattern as before - with one person asking three people who are hidden from view various questions. They're whittled down to one person, and are then revealed, along with the two they didn't pick.
The couple are then whisked off on holiday to see if they truly are a match made in heaven - but nine times out of ten, they're not.
But it's GREAT telly!
Catherine has played Eva Price, the half-sister of Leanne Battersby, in Coronation Street for the last six years. Before that, she was well-known for her role as Iris Moss in the BBC Drama Lilies in 2007.
She married her partner Tom Pitfield in May 2016, and gave birth to their son, Alfie, in March 2015.
