Brooke Vincent, who plays Sophie Webster in ITV’s Coronation Street, is currently a regular stand-in for Chelsea Norris on the Key 103 Breakfast show with Mike Toolan.

The soapstar has proven to be very popular with listeners, thanks to her great sense of humour and no-nonsense attitude.

And Brooke recently decided to use her new platform to call out online trolls, after being attacked in the comments section under stories on several national news websites.

Picking out a number of negative comments, the 23-year-old read them out to her listeners - and shared her feelings about them.

"Here's one - 'her bottom is eating her swimming costume' yes Fisher Spooner from Essex I was getting out of the pool,” she said.

"There's also 'she's a mess' and 'she has the ass of a 50-year-old'."

One particular vicious comment, left underneath a picture of Brooke parting in Las Vegas, read: "[Brooke] should enjoy her young life because pretty soon, she will be somebody's baby mama.

“She needs to spend some of her money on acting lessons - not in Vegas.”

It continued: “Very soon, Corrie will let her go and she will attempt to make a living out of writing a blog that nobody care to read and she not write very well."

We think you’d better take a look at your OWN writing abilities before shaming Brooke’s, anonymous Instagram user!

However Brooke didn’t take the message to heart too much, instead choosing to point out the many grammatical errors contained within the cruel comment.

She said laughingly: “I am buzzing you messed that one up.

"Now, I'm coming for you!"

But, despite her bravado, the talented young actress admitted that receiving such nasty comments on a daily basis has knocked her confidence.

She said: "When you're walking out of a restaurant or a club and there are all these photographers, you don't want to smile because it's embarrassing when you're with your friends.

“So you just keep your head down. But then everyone turns around and says I look miserable."

Brooke added poignantly: “It can ruin your day.”

Just ignore the haters and focus on what you’re doing, Brooke - we think you’re awesome!
