The actor, who plays Tommy Duckworth in the soap and also starred as Justin Burton in Hollyoaks, has been revealed as a performer called 'The Phantom'.

A number of videos were posted to YouTube featuring a masked rapper, now revealed as Fountain, who rapped free style among a group of other local rappers.

During one performance, the actor raps 'I will f*** anybody up in the worst way, rape a b**** on her birthday.”

The lyrics in another read “I’m a motherf****** demon, I’ll stab you in the face with a diseased needle.”

The actor, 25, was immediately suspended from the soap when Coronation Street bosses were tipped off that Fountain was the masked star.

Chris has released a statement apologising for the matter, stating the videos were made over a year ago and he was “experimenting”.

“I would like to sincerely apologise for any offence I have caused.

“I am deeply ashamed by the lyrics and very much regret my behaviour.

“The videos were made over a year ago when I was experimenting with music and I’ve not done anything like it since and nor will I,” he said.
