"This week we had our 20 week scan. It went really well. The baby is growing normally and everything looks well and healthy. Phew!
It's an active little thing, it was moving about constantly and I'm pleased to say we didn't cave into finding out the sex. As tempting as it was, we really would like the surprise and if I'm honest, I doubt that we'd have found out with all the dancing around in there.... Not still enough to see anything!
I've been making healthy soups this week to go with Sam's new household hobby, bread making! My favourite was a chicken-vegetable-noodle soup, with ginger, coriander and chillies. Think this will now be a regular recipe for us.
I'm really lucky when it comes to food with Corey, he will pretty much eat anything I put in front of him. He once went through a stage of wanting mussels for dinner most days!
I really hope I have the same luck this time. I do think it's very important to cook a wide variety of foods for your children from a young age and even involve them in the preparation. Education is key when it comes to food and healthy living.
We came back to my home town Bury for the bank holiday weekend. It was my niece's 7th birthday and she had a brilliant party. It was part of the forest school, The CommuniTree Initiative. What a great idea! I'd never heard of it before. All the kids got to play games and do actives in the woods whilst being educated about wildlife. Corey absolutely loved it- in fact, we all did!
My sister-in-law, Adele, comes up with such great party ideas, last year she organised a Frozen themed party hosted by Elsa who also performed 'Let it go’.
It's always nice to come back to Bury. I love seeing the family and spending time with my nieces. Corey and the girls, Sadie and Tess, get on so well. I know Corey is going to make the perfect big brother. They just adore him!
It's hard to fit everyone in when we I come up but this time I got the chance to catch up with one of my best mates, Louise. We've grown up together since high school and although we don't see a lot of each other, we always manage to pick up from where we left off... Well not quite, I watched her drink Prosecco and eat Brie whilst talking about her new eyelash lift - everything I'm not able to do at the moment. So I just eat chips and washed it down with a Becks Blue! (Non-alcoholic beer) I was quite content with that!
It's my mum's 60th birthday this week and me, my brother and step dad have arranged a surprise trip to Turkey for her. She's been asking what our plans are for this week, totally pushing to get something from us but with no joy.
We've told her we have other plans and we'll try and plan something for next week... She doesn't seem too happy. The kids have been kept out of the loop too, one big surprise to be had! I can't wait to see their little faces... And my mum's!"
