FRI 22 NOV
NEW SERIES Live At The Apollo, 9.30pm, BBC1
Make sure your socks are pulled on tight because you’ll be laughing them off with the return of this Bafta-nominated series where our fave stand-ups tell their best gags, before introducing the best up and coming comedians to the stage. Kicking off tonight’s opening episode is Eddie Izzard, with special guests Josh Widdicombe and Trevor Noah – coming live from London’s Hammersmith Apollo.
I’m A Celeb! 9pm, ITV
The celebs have been in the jungle for all of five days, so what mischief have they been getting up to? And who is starting to look really bad without a full face of slap / getting the big-time grumps without a decent meal inside them (unless one of the little darlings is amazing at the Bushtucker thing)? It’s time for Ant and Dec to bring us more action from Down Under and keep us updated about what their weekend holds....

The Graham Norton Show, 10.35pm, BBC1
It’s double Doctor Who night as Graham welcomes Matt Smith and David Tennant into the studio, ready to chat all things Timelord as the 50th anniversary celebrations are almost upon us. And as if that wasn’t exciting enough, we’ve also got Robbie Williams performing I Wanna Be Like You, plus Jimmy Carr and Emma Thompson, all pinching themselves at such a great guest list!
SAT 23 NOV
Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor, 7.50pm, BBC1
The most eagerly awaited piece of drama this year (well, maybe the finale of Broadchurch took that award) is finally here and… well, we haven’t got a clue what’s going to happen. As ever, the Beeb are keeping things seriously under wraps, but we do a few things: There’s a something awakening in the National Portrait Gallery in the present day, there’s something going on in Elizabethan England AND a battle is raging somewhere in space. Blimey! Add in David Tennant, Billie Piper’s return as Rose and John Hurt as some shadowy type and it should be a corker!

Strictly Come Dancing, 6.30pm, BBC1
After the excitement of last weekend’s show coming from the dizzy heights of Blackpool it’s back to boring old Elstree Studios tonight where it’s business as usual for Tess, Brucie and co. With the contest quickstepping to the finishing line it’s time for the remaining celebs to up their game and hope they won’t be dancing for survival in tomorrow night’s show.
The X Factor, 8pm, ITV
The live shows continue and this week the finalists will be celebrating the ‘best of The X Factor’ - ie renditions of “memorable performances” from past contestants, as well as regurgitating hit singles from past winners and losers (erm, we’re not sure Steve Brookstein’s Against All Odds will be getting an airing). Olly Murs is in the house to show this little lot how it’s done.
SUN 24 NOV
Strictly Come Dancing: The Results, 7.20pm, BBC1
Everyday is like Sunday, said 80’s angst-ridden popstar Morrissey. Well, we wish it was if we could have the excitement of the Strictly results show on a daily basis! With Brucie tucked up at home having a well-earned rest it’s down to Tess and Claudia to bring us all the razzle dazzle tonight, revealing which couple will be waltzing into next week and who will be leaving the competition forever (don’t worry, there’s always the live tour). The judges’ scores and viewers votes have been totted up – so who will they save, and who’s saying tatty-bye? Oh, and there’s also a performance by those opera dudes Il Divo.
The Paradise, 8pm, BBC1
Newlywed Lucille Ballentine arrives in town with her wadded husband in tow. An ex-peasant, the girls can’t work out what she sees in the ageing, bristly Mr Ballentine (er, the inside of his wallet maybe?) and set about trying to find out what’s troubling her. Elsewhere, Katherine confides in Moray about what a nasty piece of word hubby Tom is – and guess what happens next?!
Surprise Surprise, 7pm, ITV
This series has taken a bit of a hit lately, what with all the other exciting things on the box on a Sunday. But it returns this week with a local hero who rescued dozens from life-threatening floods getting a special surprise. There’s also Britain’s Got Talent’s Diversity making a little girl’s day, and a grandfather reunited with his long-lost brother, ah.
The X Factor Results, 8pm, ITV
Continuing the patting on the back theme of last night, where this year’s contestants enjoyed more of their ‘journey’ by celebrating great X Factor moments of times gone by, JLS pop by for an X Factor sing-song. There’s also performances from legendary diva Mary J Blige and the show’s own phenomenon, One Direction, who’ll be giving us a rendition of new single Story Of My Life.
