Love him or hate him, Perez has firmly established himself in the LA showbiz scene. His website, which landed nine years ago, gets a huge five million hits a day and is reportedly worth around £20million.
When Perez met Posh in LA café Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, where he set up shop back in 2007 (he now works from home), instead of a confrontation, the pair clicked and ended up becoming friends. And with the Beckhams now back in the UK, Perez tells Closer:
“I really do miss her. I met Victoria a few times and she had a wicked sense of humour. She rarely partied in LA because she was so attentive to her kids. But she was here for five years and caused a stir!”
Perez received a string of well-wishing Tweets from celebs, including close pals Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.
Talking about Katy – who rode into his 32nd birthday party on an elephant – Perez says she’s happy with singer John Mayer, adding: “I’m thrilled for her and John. She deserves the best because she’s such a special person.”
He adds: “Taylor Swift always goes for bad boys, too, but I’d love to set her up with Zac Efron. They’re both super-successful, love music and are around the same age. I sense a plan coming on."
In a series of Tweets the star, 34 – who’s thought to be single – revealed: “I’m calling him Sweet Pea from now on. I’m Big Pea and he’s Sweet Pea.” And last week, he Tweeted more snippets of his new role as a father, saying he’d given Sweet Pea his first bath and read him Dr. Seuss in Spanish.
But Perez says mutual friend Rihanna’s reunion with ex Chris Brown, 23, who was charged with assaulting the singer, 25, in 2009, won’t last the course.
But despite loving a gossip, the self-proclaimed “Queen Of All Media” is very private when it comes to his personal life. The openly gay blogger took everyone by surprise after announcing on his site months ago he’d become a father to a baby boy who he has named Mario Armando Lavandeira II.
