Liz McClarnon couldn’t be happier that her Atomic Kitten band mates, Kerry Katona and Natasha Hamilton are loved-up with their partners.

But while Kerry counts down to her wedding to George Kay and Natasha waits for her baby – with their Big Reunion co-star Ritchie Neville - to arrive, Liz, 33, tells us she’s ruled out returning to the celebrity dating scene.

In 2003 Liz dated Blue and Celebrity Big Brother star Lee Ryan, and it was this rollercoaster romance that put her off a certain type of man for good.

She tells Closer: “I'd never date another celebrity again. I was engaged to Lee and I didn't like having our relationship in the spotlight. For me, it leads to paranoia. You read things about each other and wonder who said what. Dating a celebrity makes your relationship too public and I like to keep my private life private.”

Despite shooting fame in 1998, Liz admits she’s never been concerned about the affect her career could have on her relationships.

She says: “I don’t think I’ve met anyone who is with me because I’m famous, it’s not normal for me to date a celebrity. The only hard bit for me when it comes to dating is making sure no one thinks I’m engaged after a first date! ”

But while she enjoys the single life – following her split with long-term partner Harlequin’s rugby star, Ryan O’Neill, earlier this year, Liz says she has to keep working on her confidence.

She adds: “I've never felt sexy. I always feel awkward trying to be sexy. When I was in Atomic Kitten I was the shyest person around by a mile. I’m confident in a lot of ways but I’ve never wanted to show off my body.

"I always put uplifting affirmations on Twitter and I have a positive mind frame, I know if I’m as confident as I can possibly be it shines through.”
