The former Brookside actress recently announced that she and baby Jaxon’s father, Daniel Riley, had decided to call time on their relationship.
She told the MailOnline in a statement: "Whilst we have decided not to remain together we are committed to bringing up our wonderful son and making sure we are great parents and supporting each other to achieve that."
And now, speaking with HuffPost UK Parents,Claire Sweeney has admitted that she finds herself constantly worrying about her little boy.
She explained: "Every day is nerve-racking, every day I worry about things with him.
"My mother says I have 'mother’s guilt'."
The 44-year-old, who suffered two tragic miscarriages before Jaxon’s birth, said that understandably she began worrying about her little one from the very beginning of her pregnancy.
And she admitted that her nerves have not subsided as Jaxon has gotten older.
She said: "Things I never had any fear of before, such as driving and flying make me anxious now.
"I’ve never been bothered about getting on a plane, but I got on a plane with Jaxon for the first time and my nerves went.
"Everyday things become more worrying, like crossing a road.
"And now he's started pulling himself up on his feet, so I've got even more to worry about!"
Thankfully she has surrounded herself with amazing ‘mummy friends’, who have all been helping her to work through her mother’s guilt.
From encouraging her to do things with her baby boy, to helping her to see past her nerves, Claire said that they have been there for her every step of the way - and that she couldn’t be more grateful.
She said simply: "It's good to have other mothers around you who will take the plunge for you and encourage you to do things."
