The people of Orlando have suffered a great deal of pain over the last seven days, with a devastating number of innocent lives taken as a result of gun crime.

However, among all the sadness and suffering, a small token of love has been offered to the family of singer, Christina Grimmie, who was tragically killed over the weekend.

Christina, who was a contestant on The Voice America in 2014, was shot while signing autographs in Orlando, Florida, and later died in hospital.

Since the tragedy, social media has been flooded with thousands of messages from her fans and fellow musicians who were devastated by the news, wanting to pay their respects.

But Maroon 5’s Adam Levine, who mentored Christina during her time on The Voice, has come forward and offered to pay for her entire funeral in order to lend a helping hand to the heartbroken family.

“She was taken from us too soon,” Adam said in a statement to Entertainment Tonight.

“Christina was a natural. A gifted talent that comes along so rarely,”

Adam supported Christina throughout the sixth season of the show, coaching her to third place in the final.

Christina’s brother, Marcus, shared the overwhelming news of Adam’s gesture on social media, and admitted he “had no words”.

Orlando has been struck by tragedy multiple times in the past week, and our thoughts and prayers go to everyone there - to those affected by the shooting at Pulse nightclub; to the devastated parents searching for their son who was snatched by an alligator; and, of course, to Chistina Grimmie’s family, friends and fans.

What do you think of Adam's gesture?
