Christina Aguilera gives birth to baby girl and reveals unique baby name

Christina Aguilera has given birth to her second child, a baby girl, with fiancé Matt Rutler by her side.

The singer welcomed her new daughter on August 16 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles via C-section.

She revealed her daughter's name on Twitter as Summer Rain Rutler.

According to insiders, the 33-year-old was keen to have a natural birth.

"She's due at any moment. But she's freaking out because with her first child, Max, she had a C-section. This time, though, she wants to have a natural childbirth," the source told a US magazine.

The Voice coach announced her pregnancy earlier this year shortly after revealing her engagement to fiancé Matt.

The pop star decided to take some time off from the talent show, with singer Shakira keeping her seat warm during her maternity leave.

Christina showed off her pregnancy figure in a photoshoot for V magazine earlier this year.

She revealed: "As a woman, I'm proud to embrace my body through all stages of life, staying fearless and confident in surrendering to the unknowns the future has in store."

Christina is also mum to son Max, 6, from her marriage to music producer Jordan Bratman.
