The X factor judge found herself at the centre of a media storm, when pictures surfaced on Tuesday appearing to show her standing near a 'white substance' in the toilets at the British Fashion Awards.
The 32-year-old took legal action immediately, culminating in the removal of the snap.
However the incident has clearly taken its toll on the star, and yesterday evening she posted a motivational picture, reading:
'Hold on to every genuine person you find. This generation has people driven by ego, money and status. '
As a result good souls are ruined daily. Keep your head up and be conscious of the energy you give out an connect with.'
The message was accompanied by the caption:
'So true .. #positivevibes only [love] squeezing my [soldiers] tight!! Love you'.
Following the controversy, a source told The Sun:
'It's outrageous that someone in the fashion industry has taken a picture of Cheryl like this and posted it publicly.
'She absolutely despises drugs and any connection linking her to them is ridiculous. She was just using the toilet.'
