While the debate as to whether Cheryl is pregnant with Liam Payne’s baby or not appears to have reached a conclusion, it's worth reminding ourselves that the popstrel has had babies on her mind in the past.
Chez, 33, and her 23-year-old lover Liam have yet to officially confirm or deny speculation about their ‘baby bump’ – with many interpreting their public appearance this week as confirmation of the news.
Now an old interview Cheryl in GQ back in 2012 has resurfaced - and proves the singer has always wanted to start a family.
"I love kids. I’m obsessed with babies. I know that’s what I was put on the earth to do – to be a mother," she told the magazine.
She even went on to suggest she has a name up her sleeve for whenever she does become a mum.
"Of course I’ve thought about baby names a million times. I like Alfie for a little boy," she revealed.
More recently, Chery discovered that she has family members she never knew existed having traced her family tree for BBC documentary series, Who Do You Think You Are?
In scenes set to air on December 15, Cheryl’s jaw drops when she discovers her great-great grandfather caused a scandal by having illegitimate twins with his housekeeper.
Her relative – named Joseph Wilson Ridley – had embarked on a relationship with his maid (named Edith Annie Burton) after his wife, Mary Ann, died in 1930.
Edith later gave birth to twins – one of which is Cheryl’s grandmother, Olga.
Cheryl’s family revelation came as a shock to her because her own mother, Joan, had never spoken about Joseph - as her grandmother Olga never spoke about him, and he died before Joan was born.
The Promise This singer had wanted to learn more about her family on her mother's side due to all the blanks in that part of her family history.
"I find it pretty amazing that my mam’s grandfather has been completely forgotten, considering he fought in the First World War. You would think there would be tales and stuff like that passed down, but nobody seems to know anything," she said before discovering his past.
Sounds like she knows a lot about him now.
Meanwhile, Liam’s sister Ruth has hit out at the ongoing ‘is she/isn’t she?’ speculation and has asked fans just to stop talking about the whole pregnancy/non-pregnancy altogether.
Taking to Twitter, Ruth said: "Bump or no bump, announced or not, it’s completely up to my brother and Cheryl what parts of their private lives they choose to share and when."
That’s us told, then.
We will just keep waiting for that official announcement…
