The 31-year-old has had to defend her weight a lot – continuously reassuring fans she is ok.

Now Cheryl has revealed she thinks there should be a serious punishment for body shaming.

Speaking to ES Magazine, the X Factor judge said: "Body shaming has to stop. It's b******t. Something has to be done, changed, even if it's done in law."

Cheryl – who married Frenchman Jean-Bernard last year – previously admitted the grief of recently losing her father-in-law effected her weight.

But the former Girls Aloud singer said she shouldn't have to provide a reason or defend herself.

She continued: "I am very happy and very healthy. Every woman has a different body type and handles stress and grief differently."

Earlier this year Cheryl blasted Twitter users for body shaming, after one labelled her a 'bag of bones'.

And even her X Factor boss Simon Cowell, 55, recently jumped to her defence. He insisted she is 'not someone who is trying to make herself thin'.
