Kimberley, 34, is set to tie the knot with longterm partner Justin Scott in Barbados later this month, and Cheryl, 32, has gushed over their friendship in her first interview since allegations of her split from husband Jean-Bernard broke.
Speaking to Hello! magazine, the X Factor judge said: “Kimberley is just the best friend you could wish for. I’m so excited for the wedding.
“It’s a celebration of two people in love and I am excited to celebrate their love story.”
Kimberley and former Triple 8 singer Justin, 33, have been together for 10 years and share son Bobby, who was born in September 2014.
While Cheryl is said to be going through her second divorce, following her marriage to French businessman JB in July 2014, she and Nicola Roberts will act as bridesmaids for Kimberley.
But it’s been reported that Kimberley has snubbed their other former Girls Aloud band mates Sarah Harding and Nadine Coyle –who have allegedly been left off of the guest list.
A source told The Sun: “It isn’t personal on Kimberley’s part, it’s not going to be a big wedding. She just wants very close friends and family.
“She sees Sarah more as a former colleague than a close friend but she has no problem with her.”
The insider added: “She wouldn’t want this to cause any issue between them but Sarah let won’t this make her bitter. She’s excited she's getting married and wishes them both well.
“Unlike Nadine, she always thought her relationship with the rest of the band was good.”
