After months of rumours, the end of Cheryl and husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini’s 18-month marriage was all but confirmed last week, with reports that the pair had been leading separate lives since the summer.
Cheryl – who wed JB in July 2014 after dating for just two months – reportedly started divorce proceedings and cited her husbands “unreasonable behaviour” for the split, with reports claiming that his jealousy had been a big issue.
But unlike the four-year breakdown of her marriage to footballer Ashley Cole in 2010, sources say her reaction to divorce number two has been totally different this time around.
“When Cheryl split with Ashley, she was still in love with him and that’s why it was so painful to call it quits. But with JB she knows deep down that they’ve been out of love for a while. She’s barely shed a tear since the split became common knowledge.”
