As well as surprising everyone with her whirlwind marriage to Jean-Bernard, fans were shocked when 30-year-old Cheryl dropped ex husband Ashley Cole’s name.

Chezza allegedly can’t understand why people are having trouble saying her new name as she doesn’t think it’s difficult at all.
A source told the Mail Online: “Cheryl does not understand why so many people have such a difficult time pronouncing her surname as the name is pronounced exactly as it’s spelt.”

However Cheryl’s X Factor boss and fellow judge Simon Cowell thinks she had an ulterior motive in marrying someone with such a surname.
Simon, 54, thinks Cheryl wants to be known simply by her first name, like Madonna and Shakira.
Speaking to the Daily Star at the most recent round of auditions, Simon joked about Cheryl’s shot gun marriage, saying: “I’m happy for Cheryl. She sent me a text the day it happened. It said ‘Are you sitting down? I’ve got married’.

“I’m surprised she’s found anyone to be with her full time because she’s high maintenance but I’m happy for her. He’s a nice guy.”
Admitting that he is one of the people struggling the new name, Simon added: “I can’t get used to saying her new name though, forget it.
“I am convinced she married this guy so now we have to call her Cheryl. Like Madonna.”
