Following her stint on the X Factor a few years back, Cher Lloyd made her mark on the US. Now, it seems like the singer is looking to crack the UK, looking scarily similar to former mentor Cheryl.

Appearing on Loose Women yesterday for her first UK television appearance in two years, the 23-year-old rocked glossy brunette locks in styled waves, a glowing complexion and perfectly arched eyebrows, leading Twitter users to tweet - a LOT - about her similarities to Cheryl.

One fan wrote: "Omg @ loosewomen Cher Lloyd is the double of Cheryl !!!"

Another said: "#LooseWomen thought Cher Lloyd was Cheryl Cole was most impressed by her transformation especially change of accent!"

Speaking on her new appearance, Cher said: "The main thing for me was experimenting. As a young girl, we’ve all made makeup mistakes I’m sure… The difference between being 16 years old to 23 – it’s huge."

The singer also cleared up any rumours that may still be hanging around that the two still had any sort of rift between them, telling Loose Women presenters: "We made up ages ago."

Indeed, in the past Cheryl and Cher had their differences, after Cher hinted that her mentor didn't actually sing when she performed live.

"I'd hope to bump into her. Everything is fine there was never really an issue," she continued. "But it was back when I was 16, this gob just ran away with it!"

Cher Lloyd is back in the UK to promote new single Activated.
