It’s been two years since Geordie Shore icon Charlotte Crosby became a mum when she gave birth to her daughter Alba and, just weeks before her first child’s second birthday, the reality star recently revealed she was expecting again.

Charlotte and her fiancé Jake Ankers announced they were expanding their family last week when they shared an adorable video of them walking on the beach with Alba, with Geordie Shore cast members past and present – including Sophie Kasaei, James Tindale and Holly Hagan – flooding the comments section with messages of congratulations.

It’s a busy time for Charlotte, who is also set to appear on Geordie Shore spin-off series Aussie Shore as the house boss, and ahead of the launch of the show, she exclusively told Closer about the moment she found out she was pregnant and the ‘fitting’ meaning behind it.

‘I came to London to record a lullaby that my nana used to sing to us when I was a baby and I now sing it to Alba and I just thought, do you know what? These producers are always saying come and record something after I did The Masked Singer and I said, yeah, okay then,’ Charlotte explained.

‘And I found out I was pregnant whilst I was in the booth. I got a pregnancy test. So, it’s quite fitting that I was singing a lullaby that I already sing to my first child and I found out I was having my second.

‘It’s got this lovely meaning to it, so I now think that if I do post a video just from nice moments, more of a personal one about pregnancy, I might put that song as the background.’

Although it’s an exciting time for her family, Charlotte admitted that Alba ‘doesn’t quite know about being a big sister yet’.

‘She’s not quite two yet. I’ve told her, but I just don’t think she understands,’ she said.

‘Alba is so good with babies, so I know that when we bring her brother or sister home, she is going to idolise them. She’s just not going to stop touching them, I don’t think. She’s going to be in awe.’

Aussie Shore premieres on Paramount+ on Thursday 3 October.
