Amanda Bruce, who dated Sheen for about eight months, said that despite knowing the actor was carrying the disease, she made the decision to carry on having unprotected sex with him.
She admitted on The Dr Oz show that she took a special drug to lower her risk of contracting HIV through intercourse, called pre-exposure prophylaxisto.
Sheen’s doctor, Robert Huizenga, appeared on the show alongside the doctor, and said he had advised her against unprotected sex with the actor, despite the reduced risk.
'And so basically I think my advice to her was, "Don’t do it, but the risk is miniscule." And she elected to then go forward because she felt so close and wanted that level of intimacy,’ he told the show.
But Amanda’s story is a very different tale to some of the others alleged by different exes of Charlie, including a porn star he slept with ‘for over a year’ according to her report, and another ex girlfriend.
These women allege that they were not informed of Charlie’s HIV status prior to having sex with him.
