The star told a UK gossip mag: ‘I've been experiencing some pain in my stomach recently, which feels like it's in my womb. I saw my doctor for a smear test and she has referred me for a scan.’

The former Celebrity Big Brother star revealed how her anxieties have led her to fear the worst.

She said: ‘of course my first thought was, 'What if it's cancer?' as any woman's would be. Now I'm waiting for an ultrasound scan. I've been told that there's a possibility that I might have a cyst on my ovary, but will find out for sure this week.’

Chantelle continued: ‘I keep on top of medical checks and I've always had regular smear tests. I urge every woman reading this to arrange one if they've not had one recently. Tragically Jade Goody lost her life to cervical cancer but the earlier it's detected, the more chance there is to beat it.’

Fellow Big Brother star Jade Goody passed away on Mother’s Day in 2009 less than a year after being diagnosed with the disease.

The Essex-born star is mum to 18-month-old daughter Dolly.

Chantelle feared that her dreams of becoming a mother would never come true after being told she had low fertility.

Chantelle conceived naturally despite being told she had low fertility.

She revealed: ‘I was born this way. It was either because I was born with a low amount of eggs, or over the years I've had an accelerated loss of eggs. If I can be helped then I'll take the help that I can have. There is just a very very low chance that I would conceive naturally and the doctor gave me a time scale of about three years that I've got left.’
