The last time we spoke to Chanelle Hayes she opened up about how devastated she was to learn she was unlikely to conceive a second baby. But fast forward a few months and miracles do happen, as we're shooting Chanelle excitedly cradling her neat baby bump. Here is an extract from our EXCLUSIVE interview and shoot with Chanelle in this week's Closer Magazine (on sale NOW!)...
At 16 stone and suffering from Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, 5ft 4 Chanelle - who has been dating PE teacher Ryan Oates, 35, for a year - wasn't ovulating and was told by doctors it was very unlikely she'd be able to have children at her weight.
Then two weeks into January and she found out the happy news that she's expecting.
"It's unbelievable," laughs Chanelle.
"I haven't had a period since last May and was told I wouldn't be able to get pregnant until I’d lost weight, so Ryan and I weren't taking precautions. Then at the beginning of this year, I went out for a meal celebrating my dad's birthday but I started to feel really sick."
The sickness symptoms were so severe that Chanelle immediately went to see her doctor, suspecting she had a tummy bug.
"My doctor took a blood test and a couple of days later when I went he told me I was pregnant, I thought he was joking," she explained.
"I was on my own at the surgery and couldn't take it in, it was such a huge shock!"
