Singer Simon Webbe could be in trouble with BBC bosses after dropping some major hints about his performance on the new season of Celebrity Masterchef.

During an interview with the Daily Star Sunday, the 38-year-old Blue band-mate almost gave away how far he had progressed in the pre-recorded contest.

Although he thankfully stopped short of blurting out all the juicy details, he did let loose some BIG hints.

“I’m very ashamed of how I’ve done so I’m trying to avoid the subject” he said.

“I have no skills when it comes to cooking. It is even harder when you have a camera shoved in your face and you have Gregg Wallace and John Torode talking to you.

“It is incredibly intimidating and I wasn’t prepared for that at all. I didn’t do any practicing beforehand, which was a big mistake.

“I’ve been spending all my spare time in the studio or the gym and none in the kitchen.”

Hmm… Interesting!

Although the Manchester musician managed to sell 15 million records alongside fellow Blue-crew Antony Costa, Duncan James and Lee Ryan, it seems he could’t transform those musical talents onto the table top.

Following this slip-up, a BBC spokesperson added: “We do not comment on speculation about contestants’ performance in the competition”.

So far, Sinitta has hung up her apron, becoming the first to leave the competition which began airing last week.

Last year’s winner was former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt, who followed other recent victors Sophie Thompson (2014), Ade Edmonson (2013) and Emma Kennedy to the first place position.

But who will join our favourite celeb chefs as champion this year? Although the suspense continues, one thing seems certain: we probably shouldn’t hold out hope for Simon Webbe’s success!
