Where do you shop?

As I live in the Sussex countryside, I usually have my food delivered by Ocado.

What’s your daily diet?

For breakfast I like All Bran cereal with skimmed milk, fresh berries and cream, or buttered brown toast with Marmite and a cup of tea. For lunch I’ll have beans on toast or a chicken salad, and dinner will be fish and hollandaise sauce with steamed veg. I rarely eat puddings, but snack on peanuts or liquorice.

Do you ever diet?

I’ve recently lost 2st doing food combining, where I don’t mix carbs with protein. I also do aerobics four to five times a week.

**What’s your “can’t live without” ingredient? **

Butter. I put it on toast and use it in sauces all the time.

What’s your most memorable meal?

When my skating partner Christopher Dean and I were on tour in Germany in the ’80s, we tried bulls’ testicles in a restaurant. I found them too chewy, but Christopher seemed to like them!

What’s your favourite drink?

A nice glass of chilled Chardonnay.

Lose It! With Jayne Torvill, £19.99 (Universal) is out now!

Nutritionist Catherine Matthews says:

“Jayne’s done well to lose 2st, but it was probably due to smaller portions, as there’s little evidence to suggest food combining helps you lose weight. Jayne’s diet is pretty varied, but she needs to watch her fat intake, especially as she loves butter. Opting for low-fat marg instead will benefit her heart and waistline.”

Fridge health rating: 8/10
