And the happy couple – who were married last year - chose to announce their news by carving it into pumpkins and sharing a video of the whole adorable thing on YouTube.
Tom, 28 posted the video on his Twitter page with the caption: 'Sometimes the best way to say something is with a pumpkin...and a song. Me and @mrsgifletcher have some rather exciting news to share with you.'
The McFly front can be heard singing a romantic song while the clip shows him and his 28 year-old wife getting into the Halloween spirit.
At the end of the video, they turn their pumpkin lanterns around to reveal the message: ‘we’re having a baby’ as ‘arriving 2014’ flashes on to the screen alongside a scan of their unborn child.
It’s not the first time Tom has publicly displayed his affection for his wife – after their wedding in May 2012 the singer shared a video of his unique musical wedding speech which went viral.
The couple are childhood sweethearts, having met at school when they were just 13.
Tom’s McFly bandmates – Danny Jones, Dougie Poyneter and Harry Judd – were quick to congratulate the couple on their news via Twitter.
Giovanna’s brother – TOWIE’s Mario Falcone – also expressed his excitement at becoming an uncle.
