The 42-year-old is currently taking part in the new series of Celebrity Big Brother, and has admitted she’d love to head down to the Dales after her eviction.
Danniella said: “I love being Sam Mitchell [in EastEnders], it’s so much fun and so easy for me to do. I love EastEnders, but really I’d like to be in Emmerdale.
“I love the show – it’s a bit more drama-ish in the way they run the storylines. I like the area where they shoot it and I’m a very outdoor person.”
She played the role of gobby barmaid Sam in EastEnders from 1990 to 2000, but the character was written out of the show when Danniella’s cocaine addiction eroded her nasal septum.
Sam returned to Walford two years later – but producers recast her with actress Kim Medcalf because of Danniella’s continuous problems with the class A drug.
Danniella made two brief returns to Albert Sqaure between 2009 and 2010.
In 2012 mum-of-two Danniella joined the cast of Channel 4’s Hollyoaks, playing ex-jail bird Trudy Ryan. It was reported Trudy was set to make a return to Hollyoaks Village this year, but reps for the show later confirmed the plans had been cancelled due to ‘breach of contract’.
