Hollywood power couple Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas prepare to celebrate their 20-year marriage with a renewal of their vows in Wales
They’ve endured some trying times throughout their 19-year marriage, announcing a shock split in 2013before reconciling a year later, and even facing further reports of an impending divorce earlier this year.
But Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas looked more loved-up than ever as they returned to her hometown in Wales last week.
Proud Michael, 74, linked arms with his 49-year-old wife as she received a Freedom Of The City Of Swansea honour. They were joined by son Dylan, 18, while their daughter Carys, 16, remained in America studying.
Their smitten display followed Michael recently revealing that they’re “tighter than ever” since working through their marital problems and reuniting in 2014, adding, “I love Catherine as much – actually, more – than I ever have. And hopefully the feeling’s mutual.
“We worked things out, and if both people want to work something out and make it better, you can do it. I adore her.”

And sources tell Closer the couple are even considering renewing their vows for their 20th wedding anniversary next year.
A source reveals, “Catherine wishes their original wedding had been in Wales, rather than New York. So when they were back, they made plans to renew their vows in Swansea.
“They want a ceremony in the small seaside town of Mumbles, with a family friend conducting it. Afterwards, they’d like a lavish dinner for all their family and friends in the grounds of a beautiful castle Catherine used to visit growing up, followed by a fireworks display.
“Their 20-year anniversary is a big milestone, so they’re planning a huge celebration.”

Their marital issues came to a head after Michael was diagnosed with Stage Four tongue cancer in 2010, enduring courses of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
Infamously, he appeared to suggest oral sex was to blame, telling reporters at the time, “Yeah, it’s a sexually transmitted disease that causes cancer,” before bizarrely adding, “And if you have it, cunnilingus is also the best cure for it.”

A year later, Catherine checked into a facility to be treated for bipolar disorder, which her agent confirmed had worsened “after dealing with the stress of the past year.”
Yet their time apart made them realise their love for each other, with Michael later explaining, “You find a much deeper appreciation of marriage, of your children, and you see everything a little bit clearer, and a little brighter.”
Fans also complimented Catherine’s glowing appearance during the honorary ceremony last week. One wrote, “She looks fabulous here, best I have seen her in ages. It is nice to see them all look so close.”
There’s been speculation that the Mask Of Zorro star has had surgery, but last year she denied this was the case, saying, “Contrary to public opinion, I have not been under the knife ... yet!”
Instead, she credited her looks to, “water, maintaining my PH balance, no alcohol and through a good diet that keeps my body free of any inflammation.”
