That’s right; Casey Batchelor has revealed she would LOVE to step into the shoes of Kat Slater's estranged daughter, played by actress Michelle Ryan from 2000 to 2005.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I'm getting myself an acting agent now and I'm going to, fingers crossed, do some more TV stuff.
“I mean, I think I'd fit in quite well on 'EastEnders'. I've got the accent, I've got the attitude.”
She added: “I think I'd be a good Slater. They are going a little bit doolally at the minute, the Slaters.
“Let's do a campaign and put this to 'EastEnders' - Casey Batchelor as the new Zoe Slater."
She finished firmly: "I'm going to put it forward ... Because she [Zoe] was meant to be coming back, wasn't she? I'm going to get my agent on this."
Hmm - we wonder what Michelle Ryan will have to say about that?
Then again, it’s not the most unlikely thing we’ve ever heard; plenty of EastEnders characters have been regenerated more times than Doctor Who.
Think Lucy Beale, Peter Beale, and Sam Mitchell, to name but three.
Plus Casey has some good contacts in Walford; she’s currently appearing alongside Danny Dyer's daughter Dani Dyer in the film 'Bonded By Blood 2’.
Maybe she can make nice with the Dyers and get the real-life Mick Carter to put in a good word for her, eh?
