It was fairly disturbing
The 33 year-old TV presenter made the admission in a book of funny stories by famous people about their boobs written by friend Dawn O'Porter.
In the book, which will raise money for breast cancer charities, Caroline writes: ‘When I was growing up I only had one boob. It was fairly disturbing as I was the only one who knew and I used to stuff the other side of my bra with tissue.’
‘It wasn’t until one day when it just got too lopsided that I ran down to the kitchen where my mum was making carbonara and shouted out in despair, “I’ve only got one boob.”’
‘Mum sat me down and told me it was totally normal. Weirdly, within a couple of months, I grew a second boob and all was ok. You can rest assured now that I have two fully functioning boobs!’
According to a UK newspaper, a source close to Caroline said that the Xtra Factor presenter ‘wanted to help her friend out and thought the story from her childhood was a rather funny one to tell.’
Other famous contributors to ‘The Booby Trap and Other Bits And Boobs,’ which goes on sale in October, include former Spice girl Mel C, comedian Sarah Millican and Dawn’s husband, actor Chris O’Dowd.
Author Dawn O’Porter - who lost her mother to breast cancer when she was just six years old - will donate the profits made from the book sales to three different breast cancer charities which support prevention (Coppafeel), care (Breast Cancer Care) and research (Breakthrough Breast Cancer).
